Each year in January, the GAPD holds its annual meeting in conjunction with the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry’s CE meeting in Atlanta. As well as for their ability to promote group interaction and camaraderie, these meetings offer fellow members the opportunity to gain scientific information, the latest clinical techniques, practice management information, policy-making involvement for the specialty, and fellowship with colleagues.
Members receive reduced registration fees for our CE course.
Professional outreach includes sharing information pertinent to children’s dental health with medical and dental colleagues.
The GAPD committees provide interaction in many areas concerning issues that relate to the practice of pediatric dentistry in Georgia by keeping a close liaison relationship with the Georgia Dental Association, Georgia state government agencies, the Georgia Board of Dental Examiners, the Georgia Academy of Pediatrics, and the insurance industry on issues related to the oral health of children.
GAPD and its members maintain prominent roles on the boards of many child advocacy groups, including: Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition; Georgia Oral Health Coalition; Children’s Health lobby; and the Head Start Program.
